Artisans of the River Valley will host a holiday open studio and art sale on Nov. 29 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
They include Mare's Wares of Morristown, which sells handmade designs by local artists, ranging from pottery to painted furniture. She will host Melanie Kimbler-Lago, Gary Pierce, Karan Marie Cross, Barbara Briggs Ward and June Ross, Mary Harding and Sally Hartman.
Kimbler-Lago sells fiber art, wall-size art quilts, cards, matted photographs and reclaimed painted furniture. Pierce sells bowls and rolling pins made from local hardwood. Cross sells jewelry. Ward is an author and will sell signed copies of “The Reindeer Keeper” and “The Snowman Maker.” Ross, Harding and Hartman sell pottery, textiles and bead-woven jewelry.
The Morristown Library will host jewelry maker Deb Monteith and Liz Halpen showcasing Edward Basta's wood-base oil lamps and encaustic art.
Tours will be available at Scott Ourderkirk's studio, 291 River Road, Hammond and Melanie Connor's home, 347B River Road East, Morristown. Ourderkirk makes stained glass windows, panels and lamps. Connor makes leaf pottery, ornaments and dishes, fused glass leaves for windows and homemade soap.
Melanie Connor will open her studio at 347B River Road East, Morristown. She sells whipped coconut butter body cream, natural coconut oil, olive oil, shea butter soaps, jewelry, clay, beads, clay bowls and leaf and acorn ornaments. There will be door prize every two hours, Christmas music and refreshments all afternoon.
