Ogdensburg's Concerts in the Park series starts Friday with 15-year-old singer-songwriter Allexa Hooper

OGDENSBURG -- The Ogdensburg Parks and Recreation Department’s free concert series at Library Park will begin July 10.

Spectators are encouraged to bring their own chairs to the concert series, the department said.

Shows will be at the Library Park gazebo.

No dogs or alcohol are allowed.

July 10 - Allexa Hooper, 6 to 7 p.m. Hooper is a 15-year-old singer and songwriter from Ogdensburg. She has performed at numerous talent shows and festivals throughout New York state. She sang the American and Canadian anthems at the 2013 Bassmasters Tournament in Waddington, which was broadcast on ESPN 2. She also performed at the New York State Fair. Hooper recently released her debut EP "Where The Broken Ones Lie,” recorded and produced at Diversity Studios in Burlington, Vt. July 31 - Switch, 6 to 8 p.m.

Aug. 7 - Jack Kelley’s Big Band, 6 to 8 p.m.

Aug. 15 - The Juggernaut Agenda, 7 to 8:30 p.m. The Juggernaut Agenda is your proverbial rock band whose members are T. Mourick, Greg Currier, Matt Wargo and Kevin O'Brien. All are seasoned musicians from the North Country area and many may recognize them from other area bands they have been a part of over the years.

Aug. 21 - DRAGNFLY, a rock band from upstate New York, which includes Abigail Powers on lead vocals, Tim Logan on guitar, John Walker on drums and Micah McDonald on bass, 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Aug. 28 - Crunchenstein, a Massena-Potsdam based hard rock band centering on music from the 1970s up to 2010, will hit the stage from 6 to 8 p.m. The band consists of Howard Hubbard on lead guitar and vocals, Tim Damon on drums, Brandon Bolster on bass and vocals and Mark Hodgkins on lead vocals and guitar. The band covers artists including AC/DC, Aerosmith, Kim Mitchell, Judas Priest, Live, Green Day, Hendrix, Ra, Shinedown, Scorpions, Collective Soul, Ted Nugent, Van Halen, Theory of a Deadman, The Cult, U2 and others.
