OGDENSBURG -- Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center will offer women’s cancer, “Look Good, Feel Better,” childbirth, tobacco cessation, “I Can Feel Better” and diabetes management support groups in September and October.
Social worker Kay Zimmer and oncology nurse Amber Langley will lead the free women’s cancer support group from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 9, meeting the second Wednesday of each month.

On Sept. 15, pharmacist Danny Sekhon will lead the first class of a diabetes self-management workshop. Medicare and most insurance programs will cover the cost, CHMC said. A doctor’s referral is required.

Free childbirth class for new mothers will be Sept. 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the CHMC auditorium.
Childbirth educator Marilyn Moore will lead the class.

Free tobacco cessation class with nurse Shannon Bobb will be Sept. 23 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the CHMC auditorium.
Free nicotine replacement will be available for a limited time.

The free Sept. 28 “Look Good, Feel Better” program will teach beauty techniques for women going through chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
Each participant will get a box of beauty products used in the class.
Watertown cosmetologist Clarinda Widrick will lead the class, slated for 10 a.m. to noon.

Nurse Karen Cole and Michele Catlin will lead first class of a free, six-week “I Can Feel Better” workshop on Oct. 20 at the Dobisky Center from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
It is for people with any chronic health issue.
