Ogdensburg Seaway Festival features carnival rides, parade, music, fireworks July 17 - 25

OGDENSBURG – The 50th annual Ogdensburg International Seaway Festival will feature carnival rides, a large parade, live music, arts and crafts, food, and a French and Indian War commemoration as part of its weeklong celebration July 17 through 25.

Some featured events include:

Saturday, July 17: Frederick Remington canoe race, Heuvelton Boat Launch, 9 a.m.; kids fishing derby, Greenbelt Dock, 9:30-11 a.m.; arts and crafts show, Lockwood Arena, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; Fort de la Présentation Founder’s Day at Lighthouse Point, 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; kids games at Morrisette Park, 1-4 p.m.; and Rock the Seaway Festival, featuring Sabbatical in the park, 2-9 p.m.

Sunday, July 18: antiques and artisans show at the Golden Dome, Ogdensburg Free Academy, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; Battle of the Bands featuring local high school bands, OFA football field, 7 p.m.

Monday, July 19: band performances, including Seaway Valley Community Band and the Acoustic Brothers, in Library Park from 6 to 9 p.m.

Tuesday, July 20: karaoke contest at the OFA Auditorium from 6 to 10 p.m.

Wednesday, July 21: amusement rides on the Greenbelt from noon to 11 p.m.; Seaway Cruisers Car Club/Cruise on the Greenbelt, 6 to 9 p.m.

Thursday, July 22: Frederick Remington Art Museum Day, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; more amusement rides, noon-11 p.m.; Great Toilet Paper Toss at Library Park, 6 p.m.

Friday, July 23: Guitar Hero competition on the Greenbelt, 4-7 p.m.; fireworks spectacular on the Greenbelt, 10 p.m.

Saturday, July 24: Seaway Festival parade, 11 a.m. on Ford Street; drum corps exhibition, OFA football field, 6 p.m.

Sunday, July 25: antique and classic car show and flea market, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority grounds; Fun-Fly Propbusters and Model Airplane Show, Air Field, noon.
