OGDENSBURG -- Dagmar Jaunzems will explain how Frederic Remington composed his work at the Frederic Remington Art Museum’s Art Highlights and Tea program on Feb. 12 at 2 p.m. in the museum’s Newell Galleries.
Jaunzems will explain how Remington gave his horses such strength and how he infused his night scenes with mystery.
She will focus on Remington's artistic style and achievements paying special attention to the museum's newest acquisition, Ninth Cavalry Colored Troops on Washing Duty in the Gulf, a 1898 wash on paper by Remington.
The lecture will explore the current exhibit in the museum's Addie P. Newell Gallery, "Remington Selections.
Tea will be served for $10 per person for museum members and $12 for non-members.
