OGDENSBURG -- The Ogdensburg Parks and Recreation Department is offering the Maple City Walk to Fitness Program during the entire month of May.

Ogdensburg residents, young and old, are invited to walk, run or bike ride along the Maple City Trail starting at the Dobisky Visitor’s Center as part of the program.

It will be held from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. rain or shine, each day of the week. Participants are asked to sign-in at the visitor’s center. The card requires a name and phone number.

Youth cards, for those 10 and under, will also have a nature walk built in so they can mark what they’ve seen on their walk along the Maple City Trail.

At the end of each week in May, those participating will be eligible for a small prize that will be given away in a drawing. Prizes for youth will also be available. Prizes include iPod Shuffles, gift cards to Walmart, pedometers and water bottles thanks to a donation from Walmart Foundation.

During the last drawing in May, all participants who have walked, biked or run at all during the month will be eligible for the grand prize, a Gold’s Gym Stride Trainer 350. Participation increases your chances of winning.
