OGDENSBURG -- The Frederic Remington Art Museum’s 2013 Members’ Juried Art Exhibition will open Saturday, May 18 with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m.
The museum received a record number of applicants with 116 images submitted by 44 artists, including two married couples.
Juror Gregg Fedchak selected 49 works to be in the exhibition, which will run through September 7.
A “Best in Show” prize of $100 will be awarded at the reception, along with a second place of $75 and third place of $50.
A public’s choice award will be announced Sept. 7, after the exhibition closes. The winner will receive a framed print of Remington’s 1890 oil painting “Antoine’s Cabin.” Vote at the museum or at www.fredericremington.org.
Some displayed works will be for sale, with one third of the proceeds to benefit the Frederic Remington Art Museum.

McDermott, Gouveneur; Denny Morreale, Canton; John Morrow, Ogdensburg; Paul N. Pedersen, Hermon; Thomas Robarge, Ogdensburg; Judy Andrus Toporcer, Colton; Rashmi Vaish, Ogdensburg; DuShawn Williams, Potsdam; and Pamela Winchester, Hammond.
