OGDENSBURG -- The Frederic Remington Art Museum has several upcoming events planned for Ogdensburg’s young artists.

Ogdensburg Public Library Program events will be held Feb. 14 and Feb. 16. Kids can make a flower vase collage for Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. “The Night Before Valentine’s Day,” by Natasha Wing, will be read.

Feb. 16’s class will run from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and will include a reading of “Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear?” by Eric Carle. Kids will then create a polar bear on paper modeled after Carle’s pictures.

A Kid’s Place River Shiver art activity is also planned for Feb. 16 from 1 to 4 p.m. Kids will paint night time scenes of snowmen based on the book “Snowmen at Night,” by Caroline Buehner.

Another River Shiver art activity will be held Feb. 17 from 1 to 4 p.m. Kids will create a self portrait of themselves wearing a hat after reading “Do you Have a Hat?” by Eileen Spinelli.

The next installment of the “Make a Masterpiece” series will be held Tuesday, Feb. 19 from 3 to 5 p.m. Kids of all ages will learn about Van Gogh using the book “Van Gogh and the Sunflowers” by Laurence Anholt. Kids will then make still life artworks based on Van Gogh’s “Sunflowers” using pastels on cardstock.
