OGDENSBURG -- The Frederic Remington Art Museum will host several activities May 3 to May 8.
• A Cinco de Mayo crafts session will be held Friday, May 3 from 3 to 5 p.m. and Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5 from 1 to 4 p.m. Children will learn the meaning of Cinco de Mayo, paint maracas and decorate paper sombreros and mariachi guitars.
• The Ogdensburg Public Library program will be held Saturday, May 4 from 1 to 2 p.m. “If I Built a Car” by Chris Van Dusen will be read. Kids will then draw their own dream cars, with the drawings entered to win a prize.
• The Make a Masterpiece Art Class will be held Tuesday, May 7 from 3 to 5 p.m. Children age five and older will learn about Henri Matisse. “Matisse: Dance for Joy” by Susan Goldman Rubin will be read. Children will then create a collage using sections of colored construction paper.
• The “Lunch Bunch” will be held Wednesday, May 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Kids age zero to four can bring a bag lunch and enjoy an art activity. Caretakers and kids will make a Mother’s Day handprint flowerpot on paper.
• A Mother’s Day craft activity will be offered Friday, May 10 from 3 to 5 p.m. and Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12 from 1 to 4 p.m.
