OGDENSBURG -- The Ogdensburg GreenMarket will open for the season Saturday, May 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Library Park.
The market will feature the annual Mother’s Day Market with many ideas for Mother’s Day gift buying.
Hanging baskets, bedding plants, perennials, jewelry, all natural lotions and soaps, soy candles, potpourri, photography, unique bird houses, garden stepping stones, bakery gift baskets, ‘American Doll’ doll clothes, handmade baskets, personalized linens and wine will be available.
The GreenMarket will welcome two new vendors this season; Eliza Zehr of Carthage will bring vegetables to the market and Vendetti Vineyards from Theresa will offer wines from their own vineyard.
Returning vendors will include:
• Brian and Ann Bennett, organic salad mix, green onions, parsley, eggs, herbs, garden transplants, Geraniums, hanging baskets and many verities of garlic.
• Clif and Marie Cook, pork, roasts, chops, sausage, lamb, new this year smoked lamb Polish Kielbasa and sweet Italian lamb sausage, beef, ground beef bulk, sirloin steak rib steak, top round steak, maple products; syrup, candy popcorn and maple cream, vegetables in season and Marie’s fresh baked goods.
• Joe Metz and Sean Fay, fresh spring salad mix, parsley, spinach, Dog Treats’, bedding plants, perennials, eggs, vegetables in season and jams and jellies.
• Smith Farms, all natural frozen chickens and turkeys.
• Kingston’s Roadside Stand, fresh rhubarb, asparagus, strawberries fruits and vegetables in season.
• Judi Questel “Not Your Average Cookie” cupcakes, do-nut muffins, marshmallows, pies, breads, woopie pies, fudge, biscotti, granola, caramel and maple popcorn, jams and jellies.
• Robin Snider of Robin’s Nest will offer American Doll doll clothes, handcrafted baskets, gift ideas and special orders.
• Parsley Place Herbs will offer over 100 different herbs.
• Candy Brown will offer custom garden stepping stones and pet memorial stones.
• Nola Davey will offer all natural soaps and handcrafted aprons.
• River Myst Winery and Thousand Islands Winery, local wines and sampling.
• Tabitha McKeever, macramé jewelry, screen printed team shirts.
• Kelsey Murphy, photography of local scenes and landmarks.
The GreenMarket will open its Thursday market Thursday, May 16 at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center on the corner of King Street and Mansion Avenue. The hours for the Thursday market will be 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Food stamps, WIC and senior coupons will be accepted.
