OGDENSBURG -- The Dobisky Center will host introductory workshops to War of 1812 era domestic activities, including crafting and dancing, Saturday, Nov. 3 at 9 a.m.

The workshops cover chatelaine and bonnet making, a demonstration of English country dance and readings from letters and diaries written by the women of the day.

The cost is $50, which covers lunch and basic materials.

Participants should bring items for the chatelaine they will make, and one and a half yards of fabric, dried flowers, ribbons, and small decorations for the bonnet.

A dance, with extra lessons, will also be held at 7 p.m. Admission to the dance is $5. Soft-soled shoes are suggested.
