Ogdensburg Command Performances to celebrate its 56th year

OGDENSBURG -- Ogdensburg Command Performances will celebrate its 56th year presenting the finest professional touring productions on the George Hall Auditorium stage with comedic performances, ballet, opera, drama, ice show and pop music tribute.

The 3 Redneck Tenors will open the season Thursday, Oct. 11 at 7:45 p.m. This America’s Got Talent Top 10 Finalist takes you on one side-splitting ride after another.

Singing sensations Billy Joe, Billy Bob and Billy Billee will perform songs ranging from gospel and country to Broadway, pop, and classical. The trio is billed as “NASCAR meets Opera” and “Down home laughs with big city music!”

Stand By Your Man – The Tammy Wynette Story on Sunday, Oct. 28 at 4 p.m. follows this music legend’s journey from triumph to heartbreak to everlasting love. Relive “the 1st lady of Country music’s” hits including “I Don’t Want to Play House Anymore,” “D-I-V-O-R-C-E,” “Golden Rings” and more.

Christmas Wonderland will feature Santa and his merry helpers Monday, Dec. 3 at 7:45 p.m. with glittering costumes, a dazzling cast, favorite Holiday songs, and the highest kicking chorus girls this side of the North Pole.

Peter Pan and Friends On Ice is “an on stage ice adventure that will take your breath away!” says an OCP press release. A new-age twist to this beloved classic features professional skating champions, live Broadway level singers and dancers, and specialty cirque acts Sunday, March 3 at 4 p.m.

Direct from Moscow, the Russian National Ballet production of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake will feature some of the world’s best dancers, spectacular costumes, and magical props on Monday, March 18 at 7:45 p.m.

Aquila Theatre’s production of Mary Shelley’s timeless classic Frankenstein is bold and thrilling while paying homage to the original, frightening writing of 1818, the press release said. Years ahead of its time, the first true science fiction novel 200 years later “still poses a myriad of critical ethical questions” This production is sponsored by North Country Public Radio on Sunday, March 24 at 4 p.m..

Simon & Garfunkel Live in Central Park Revisited closes the 2018-19 Season on Thursday, May 16 at 7:45 p.m. The celebration of the historic, iconic concert in 1981 is recreated using set lists with favorites like “Mrs. Robinson,” “Scarborough Fair,” “Slip Slidin’ Away,” “Kodachrome,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” “The Sound of Silence” and more.

Concertgoers can attend preshow chats one hour before curtain time of most performances, conducted by a representative of the touring company.
