Ogdensburg chamber seeks nominations for Citizen of the Year and other awards

OGDENSBURG -- The Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for Citizen of the Year, Business Improvement Award and Outstanding Community Service Award, with recipients to be honored at the annual dinner held at the Gran-View Restaurant on Friday, Nov. 4.

Written nominations for the prestigious Citizen of the Year award must include a brief explanation stating what qualifies your nominee for Citizen of the Year. Past award recipients include Tom Hannan Sr., Tom Luckie Sr. and Joe Basta.

The Business Improvement Award recognizes a business that has had a profound positive impact on the community and its appearance by renovating and revitalizing an existing building or area into a thriving business enterprise in which the community can be proud. John Wade and Carlos Lopez of the Sherman Inn Bed and Breakfast received the 2015 award. Other past recipients include Hosmer's Marina and Phillip's Diner.

The Outstanding Community Service Award honors a person or group who has made a substantial contribution of their time, work and philosophies into a project or program for which the entire.

Ogdensburg community benefits. Past award recipients include the Ogdensburg Pride and Beautification Committee, Demers Family/Kimro’s Medicine Place and St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union.
