OGDENSBURG -- The Amvets Auxiliary is hosting two events to raise money to help David House Sr. and family with travel and medical expenses.
House is a cardiac patient who recently underwent an experimental procedure to fix an internal defibrillator that went haywire and was zapping him.
He needs a heart transplant, but recently underwent cancer treatment and must wait another two years before he can be declared cancer-free and cannot get a new heart until that happens.
There will be a fundraiser car wash on May 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ogdensburg fire station.
June 14 will be a jamboree at the Amvets clubrooms from noon to 6 p.m. Any donations will be accepted.
