POTSDAM -- An “Indian Dinner Benefit” will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 42 Elm St. Saturday, Oct. 18 to benefit Local Living Venture (LLV).

The tentative menu includes: moong daal (yellow lentil soup) fried rice, mixed vegetable curry, potato curry, cucumber raita (yogurt and cucumber with exotic spices), and kheer (rice pudding) with adjustments to be made for seasonal availability.

There will be three seating times, the first two are at 5:15 and 6:15 p.m. and are reserved in advance by check or by PayPal. The third seating time will be at 7 p.m. on a first-come, first served basis of what's available.

The suggested donation is $12 per person, with children 12 and under half-price, and under 5 years old free. Prepaid seating is reserved in advance by mail (if received before October 10) or by using PayPal on the Local Living Venture website: www.SustainableLivingProject.net/benefit-rsvp. Checks may be mailed to the Local Living Venture, PO Box 736, Canton, NY, 13617.

Donations of food from area farms are being sought to offset expenses.

Volunteers are also sought to help with set up and clean up, and will eat for free. Arrangements need to be made in advance at www.SustainableLivingProject.net/special-event-volunteers, 347-4223 or LocalLivingVenture@gmail.com.
