MASSENA - The New York Power Authority’s (NYPA) Friday Matinee series in August will feature four contemporary romantic comedies with a unique take on dating and relationships.
The movies are part of a year-round film series at NYPA’s admission-free Frank S. McCullough, Jr. Hawkins Point Visitors Center auditorium. The series runs every Friday at 1:30 p.m., and features a variety of family-friendly contemporary and classic movies. Popcorn is on the house!
The July schedule is:
Aug. 6: “He’s Just Not That Into You,” (2009). Set in Baltimore, interconnecting story arcs deal with the challenges of reading or misreading human behavior.
Aug. 13: “Date Night,” (2010). In New York City, a case of mistaken identity turns a bored married couple's attempt at a glamorous and romantic evening into something thrilling and dangerous.
Aug. 20: “The Proposal,” (2009). A pushy boss forces her young assistant to marry her in order to keep her Visa status in the U.S. and avoid deportation to Canada.
Aug. 27: “The Back-Up Plan” (2010). A romantic comedy centered on a woman who conceives twins through artificial insemination, only to meet the man of her dreams on the very same day.
