MASSENA – The New York Power Authority (NYPA) will continue its free “Friday Matinees” in June with showings of classic and contemporary movies at the admission-free Frank S. McCullough, Jr. Hawkins Point Visitors Center and Boat Launch at the St. Lawrence-Franklin D. Roosevelt Power Project in Massena.

During the month of June, NYPA will show a selection of movies on Fridays at 1:30 p.m. in the visitors center auditorium. Free popcorn will be available for the movie showings.

The June schedule is:

June 1: “Unknown,” (2011). A man awakens from a coma, only to discover that someone has taken on his identity and that no one believes him. With the help of a young woman, he sets out to prove who he is.

June 8: “North by Northwest,” (1959). A hapless New York advertising executive is mistaken for a government agent by a group of foreign spies, and is pursued across the country while he looks for a way to survive.

June 15: “The Vow,” (2012). A man works to win his wife’s heart after she wakes up from a car accident with severe memory loss.

June 22: “Midnight in Paris,” (2011). A family travel to the French capital for business. The party includes a young engaged couple who are forced to confront their differing views of a perfect life.

The visitors center is now operating on its summer schedule and is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Besides enjoying free movies, visitors can sample the array of hands-on exhibits at the Hawkins Point facility, which presents information on such subjects as water power and NYPA’s St. Lawrence-FDR Power Project. Visitors would be sure to enjoy the panoramic views of the power dam. For further information, please call the visitors center at (315) 764-0226 ext. 302 or visit NYPA on the web at www.nypa.gov.
