MASSENA— The New York Power Authority will continue its free “Friday Matinees” in September with showings of four classic and contemporary movies at Hawkins Point Visitors Center.
NYPA will show the movies at 1:30 p.m. in the visitors center auditorium with free popcorn.
• Sept. 7: “Dial M for Murder,” (1954). An ex-tennis pro carries out a plot to murder his wife. When things go wrong, he improvises a brilliant plan B.
• Sept. 14: “The Adjustment Bureau,” (2011). The affair between a politician and a ballerina is affected by mysterious forces keeping them apart.
• Sept. 21: “The Lucky One,” (2012). A Marine travels to Louisiana after serving three tours in Iraq and searches for the unknown woman he believes was his good luck charm during the war.
• Sept. 28: “The Stars Fell on Henrietta,” (1995). An elderly, down-on-his-luck, man uses unconventional methods to find oil in the town of Henrietta.
Visitors can also sample the hands-on exhibits at the Hawkins Point facility, which presents information on such subjects as water power and the operations of NYPA’s St. Lawrence project. Visitors are sure to enjoy the panoramic views of the power dam.
The Visitors Center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
