NORWOOD -- The Norwood Village Green concert series will continue July 10 with storyteller David Gonzalez and July 14 with Mary Ann Casale and Andy Van Duyne, both at 7 p.m.

David Gonzalez, joined by keyboardist Daniel Kelly, will perform Cuentos “Tales from the Latino World.”

Cuentos, a Spanish folk tale, paints a picture of the people and cultures of the Spanish-speaking world, with colorful tales from the Caribbean, South America and the Bronx.

This will be Gonzalez’ third appearance at the Norwood Village Green Concert Series. He previously performed “Aesop Bops!” and “ City of Dreams,” his Latin jazz infused story of Hispanic New York City.

He earned a doctoral degree from New York University in music therapy and has conducted numerous seminars, workshops and lectures, and worked as a music therapist in clinical and educational institutions.

Kelly has served as a jazz ambassador to Southeast Asia and India. He has also performed benefit concerts in Nairobi, Kenya for orphan children living in the Kibera slums and concerts for various heads of state, including the president of Costa Rica.

Kelly’s group has received the Chamber Music America/ASCAP Adventurous Programming Award.

He has been a Lincoln Center Institute Repertory artist with David Gonzalez since 2002.

Mary Ann Casale and Andy Van Duyne will share their eclectic mix of folk, country and sultry blues.

Casale began her career playing in coffeehouses in New York City and Long Island as a solo performer and vocalist in a number of bands.

She was the opening act for Harry Chapin in the 1970’s on two occasions and toured the college coffeehouse circuit in the late 70’s and early 80’s.

She now lives in Northern New York and performs locally.

Van Duyne has been performing music professionally for 45 in 'rock' bands, folk groups, and as a soloist. His principal instruments are guitar and keyboards. He has released several collections of original songs and instrumental music, including "Van Duyne Avenue.”

Van Duyne settled in the North Country after graduating from the Crane School of Music and pursuing a 32-year career as a music educator.

The Casale and Van Duyne duo feature music from each alone and together. Their repertoire includes original songs, traditional folk, classic country, rock and sing-alongs.

Admission is free but a “pass the bucket” will be offered.
