NORWOOD -- The Norwood Village Green Concert Series will present a double bill with Justin John Moniz accompanied by Michael Sitton and The Gretchen Koehler Trio with Daniel Kelly and Mark Seymour.

The concert will be held on Sunday, July 12, at 6 p.m. to be able to accommodate both artists.

Winner of The 2015 American Prize in Voice Chicago Musical Theater Award, tenor Moniz has earned great acclaim for his “comic chops and huge voice.” Lauded by the South Florida Classical Review as a "superb high tenor" and a "vocal standout", his work has also been praised by the Miami Herald and Cape Cod Times.

Moniz holds a master of music in vocal performance from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, and a bachelor of music in vocal pPerformance from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, where he was recently selected as the recipient of the 2015 Rising Star Award. He joins the company of past recipients Stephanie Blythe and Margaret Lattimore, among others. Moniz is a member of the American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA) and the Actors’ Equity Association (AEA).

On November 7, 2014 Gretchen Koehler received The Evergreen Award.

The award was created to acknowledge and honor individuals for continuing interest in and generous support of traditional cultures, arts and artists of Northern New York, village green officials said.

In February, 2015 she released her newest recording “The Waxwing.” It features Daniel Kelly.

The Gretchen Koehler Trio will combine traditional fiddle playing with jazz and world-music percussion beats.

Her releases include “Parallel Lines-Celtic Fiddles” (Gretchen and Rebecca Koehler) and “Three-Old Time Fiddle Tunes in Three Part Harmony” (Gretchen and Rebecca Koehler and Don Woodcock). Her latest project features Irish fiddle and jazz piano with Daniel Kelly, was released in early 2015. For almost two decades, she has been a violinist in The Orchestra of Northern New York, and was a featured soloist in 2009 and 2013.

Admission is free but there is a “pass the bucket.”
