NORWOOD -- Norwood-Norfolk Central School drama students will present “Annie” at the high school auditorium, 7852 State Highway 56, on March 11 and 12.

Both shows take place at 7 p.m.

Music by Charles Strause and lyrics by Martin Charnin. The production is based on Harold Gray’s “Little Orphan Annie” comic.

The story of Annie takes place in the 1930’s, with an orphan girl who is living in a miserable orphanage run by the horrible Mrs.Hannigan. When one day Annie’s world changes by a lovely Lady. Grace, who works for the billionaire industrialist, Oliver Warbucks comes to the overrun orphanage to take a lucky orphan to spend two weeks at the home of Mr. Warbucks over Christmas. Grace choose spunky Annie to be the lucky girl.

With meeting Annie the whole household falls in love with her, even the hard Mr. Warbucks. Oliver decides he would like to adopt Annie. But Annie is certain that her parents are out there, somewhere looking for her.

So with a sad heart Warbucks decides that he must help her find her parent, and even enlist the help of President Roosevelt and offering a reward of money in the hopes of finding them. And that’s where the horrible Mrs.Hannigan, her evil brother Rooster, and his lady friend, Lily come in to take advantage of the reward with something shady.

Advance tickets for adults cost $10, $8 for students, free for ages five and under and a family ticket pack is $28. Tickets at the door are $12 for adults and $10 for students.
