CANTON – Northern New York Gamescon will be held at the Best Western, 90 East Main St., April 30 and May 1 from noon to 8 p.m.

VIP ticket holders are permitted in at 11 a.m. Tickets are $8 if you buy before the event dates or $12 at the door. Ages five and younger are free with a paid adult.

Some vendors will include Brothers in Awesome Studios, a local game developer; Paranoia's Dungeon, local YouTube channel; Teardrop creations, chainmail jewelry and wearables; Adirondack Pro Wrestling Federation, Syracuse Nerd, and local artist Edward Yancy.

“We have plenty of comics to give away as door prizes and for sale/auction, some Lord of the Rings collectable toys, and other swag,” said event organizer Adam Barse.

There will be a talent show, minute to win it competition, and art contest with prizes awarded.

There will be games with prizes for children five and younger with prizes.

Barse, from Brothers in Awesome Studios, will be giving a presentation on An Hour of Code on Saturday and a panel on Going Indie for VIPs will take place on Sunday. Veils of the Nile will hold a dance show as one of the art demonstrations.

Rainy Toad Gaming will be host video game tournaments throughout both days along with open play. Gamer Craze from Canton will be running tabletop and Magic the Gathering games and tournaments all day both days.

Outside food is not permitted. The building has food available for purchase food.
