OGDENSBURG -- The Northern Lights Orchestra will play at Ogdensburg's Library Park Sunday, July 22 at 7 p.m. as part of the Ogdensburg International Seaway Festival.
Chris Hosmer will direct the orchestra 's presentation of “A Fiddler’s Journey.” The event will feature a variety of traditional music including tunes from the United States, Canada, Scotland and Ireland.
The program also features works by North Country composers and arrangers, and audiences may also recognize some melodies that are favorites of North Country and Quebecois fiddlers, performed by various soloists within the orchestra.
The Northern Lights Orchestra is dedicated to bringing fine orchestral music to communities throughout the North Country. Now in its fifth season, the NLO has performed for audiences from Norwood to Watertown, Waddington to Henderson Harbor; playing in many diverse venues such as concert halls, museums, churches, and outdoor parks and pavilions. The NLO particularly strives to play in smaller communities that don’t often have orchestral concerts.
