EDWARDS – North Country favorites Northbound will play well-known and loved pop, rock, and folk music from the past five decades at the Edwards Opera House Saturday, Sept. 2, at 7 p.m.
This group is comprised of locals Andy VanDyne (electric guitar, keyboard and vocals), Michael Welch (acoustic guitar and vocals), Don Cannamela (bass and vocals), Larry Baycura (drums), Tim Savage (tenor sax) and sometimes a guest artist or two.
The core of "Northbound" goes back over 10 years, and the current configuration has performed concerts and shows at many venues around the North Country, and Upstate New York.
The band has been influenced by great singer-songwriters of the 1950's through today including James Taylor, Paul Simon, John Foggerty, and The Beatles.
Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door before the show. The Edwards Opera House is located on the second floor of the Edwards Town Hall.
Advance tickets for all shows are available through mail. Those interested can send a check payable to “The Edwards Arts Council, Inc.” to P.O. Box 241, Edwards, NY 13635. The tickets will be available at the box office the night of the show.
The Edwards Arts Council was formed in 2002 with the mission of preserving the Edwards Town Hall, which was erected in 1896 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.
