POTSDAM -- North Country Savings Bank President Theresa "Terry" A. Phalon will be the keynote speaker as Clarkson University’s Reh Center for Entrepreneurship hosts its sixth annual recognition dinner Thursday, April 7.

North Country small business owners and interested community members are invited to attend the celebration, which will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Barben Rooms in Cheel Campus Center (#12 on the map at http://www.clarkson.edu/about/clarkson_map.pdf) with cocktails followed by dinner.

The annual recognition dinner will honor three individuals for their commitment to and support of entrepreneurship.

Associate Professor and Chair of Occupational Therapy Rondalyn Whitney will receive the Spirit of Entrepreneurship Award, given annually to a student, faculty, staff member, office or organization at Clarkson that, through the creation of a new program, organization or value-added offering, demonstrates the key characteristics of successful entrepreneurs and a deep commitment to the Clarkson community and.

Charles and Brooke Rouse, owners and operators of 24 East Main Street Bed & Breakfast in Canton, will be named the Entrepreneurs of the Year. This award recognizes a practicing entrepreneur who demonstrates an unwavering commitment to building their small business and supporting their community.

Currently the president and chief operating officer of North Country Savings Bank, keynote speaker Phalon is transitioning to the role of chief executive officer. She has been a member of the bank's board of trustees since November 2014.

A lifelong resident of Canton, Phalon also serves on a variety of boards and committees at both local and national levels.

Phalon graduated from Clarkson's Industrial Distribution program in 1983 and received her MBA from Clarkson in 2007.
