CANTON -- North Country Public Radio (NCPR) is celebrating its 50th anniversary with an all day festival on Saturday, Aug. 11 at Asgaard Farm, outside of AuSable Forks.
Gates open to the public at 11 a.m. with music beginning at noon.
The music begins at noon with Althea Jean, continues at 2 p.m. with The Gibson Brothers, followed by The NonCommittals with Radio Bob at 4 p.m., and closing with Rick and the Ramblers western swing at 6 p.m.
Local food vendors will be offering a wide variety of locally sourced food, and the AuSable Forks Volunteer Fire Department will have a grill going with traditional field day fare.
Two local breweries will be on hand with selected beers. More than two dozen artists and artisans who work in the Adirondack North Country will display and sell their work.
The North Country Children’s Museum will have special activities for kids, and station staff will oversee a variety of lawn games for adults and children.
Asgaard Farm, a producer of premier goat cheeses and organically raised meats, is hosting the event. Proprietors David and Rhonda Brunner request that no pets be brought to the event because Asgaard is a working farm. While no camping is possible at the farm, those wishing to arrange for overnight camping or other accommodations may visit https://visitadirondacks.com/stay or contact local chambers of commerce.
There are no advance ticket sales. Cost at the gate is $10/person or $25/carload.
