POTSDAM -- The North Country Peace Poetry Contest will host its annual poetry reading April 29 for local K-8 students.
This event will take place on the SUNY Potsdam campus, in Dunn Hall Theater, at 10 a.m.
Each year, the North Country Schools Peace Poetry Contest solicits poems from local K-8 students on the topic of peace.
This year, the contest received more than 200 submissions.
From those, 50 poems, and several drawings, were selected to be published in an annual calendar anthology.
Selected students will read their original poetry at the event.
Student artwork will be on display, and calendars will be available for purchase.
This event is open to the public, and is sponsored by the SUNY Potsdam Department of English and Communication.
