CANTON -- The North Country Jr. Iron Chef Competition will take place Saturday, March 9 from 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
Teams of middle and high school students will compete by developing healthy recipes using a combination of local and commodity foods that can be prepared in a school cafeteria.
The competition will take place at Eben Holden, St. Lawrence University. Students will prepare their recipe and present it to a panel of judges.
The middle school competition will run from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., with the high school competition from 1 to 4:15 p.m.
Middle school teams from Canton, Potsdam, Brasher Falls, Massena, Hermon-DeKalb and Heuvelton are expected to compete. Two Seaway Tech, Norwood, teams are entered in the high school division.
