CANTON -- The Fourth Annual North Country Folk Festival will be held Saturday, April 25, from noon until 11 p.m. at St. Lawrence University.

The festival takes place in a large open space next to the student center, near the middle of campus. There will be signage around directing people where to go.

Entertainment begins with a few student bands playing followed by a contra dance from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m. After that, our paid musical acts will begin.

Bands expected to participate include: The Fox and The Feather, comprised of Paul Smith's alumni, as well as a current SLU student; The Original Crooks and Nannies, a Philadelphia-based duo; Alex Smith and The Mountain Sound, Smith is a 2013 SLU graduate; Floodwood, featuring Al Schnier and Vinnie Amico from moe.; and headliner, Laura Stevenson and The Cans.

In addition to the live music, there will be a beer garden featuring St. Lawrence Brewing Company, a local food theme dinner from SLU dining services, and demonstrations from a variety of local artisans, farmers, and craftsmen.

Everything except for food is free.

The event is hosted by St. Lawrence's Green House, the low-impact living theme residence.
