CANTON -- The sixth North Country Folk Festival will be staged at the Old Java Quad at St. Lawrence University Saturday, April 15.
The festival is an all-day event, from noon-11 p.m., and will feature music from both local and nationally touring bands, a contra dance, regionally-themed dinner, and many local vendors and demonstrators.
A family-friendly celebration of folk music, folk arts, local living, and traditional skills of the North Country, the event is coordinated by St. Lawrence University's Green House, the low-impact living theme cottage on campus.
It is free and open to the public.
The musical lineup is as follows:
Alex Smith and Jake Brillhart, 12:15-1:15; Richard Hayes Phillips, 1:30-2:30; Deep Freeze Contra Band, 2:45-4:15; Amanda Brooks and Friends, 4:30-5:30; American String Circus, 5:45-6:45; Althea Jean, 7-8; Dyado, 8:15-9:15; and Driftwood, 9:30-11.
The performance area is directly across from the Brewer Book Store at 92 Park St.
Event parking will be in the J-Lot, directly across from the athletic facilities on campus - only a short walk from the outdoor venue.
