OGDENSBURG - The Frederic Remington Art Museum will host a Night at the Museum on Thursday, June 15, featuring music by the North Country Connections Orchestra.
The North Country Connections Orchestra is a combined group of multi-age and multi-level performers.
On violins are Abigail Marshall of Ogdensburg, Tina Struss of Lisbon, Taylor Murray of Hannawa Falls; Hannah Holt, Anna Hardiman, and Clayton Hardiman, all of Potsdam; Terry Covey of Heuvelton, and Dino Hukovic of Morristown. On cellos are Samantha Flynn of Heuvelton and Julie Cliff of Ogdensburg. Piano and percussion will be handled by Owen Hardiman of Potsdam.
Guest artist Shannon Boyle will play harp, both with the Orchestra and as a solo performer. Ms. Boyle is a harp major at Crane School of Music.
She was first runner-up in the 12th annual James and Katherine Andrews Young Artist Competition this year.
The program will include some Celtic favorites and other familiar music. The season's first Museum at Night Event offers an orchestral experience, a first for the event.
The event will be held in the museum’s Eleanor Vilas McNally Courtyard from 6-8 p.m.
Cost is $5 for members and $10 for non-members. A cash bar will be provided by Hosmer’s Marina.
An Ogdensburg favorite, the Wimpy’s Inn food truck is scheduled to park on the Museum property for the event.
Attendees will be able to tour the museum’s exhibits, including the 2017 Members’ Juried Art Exhibit, and see the museum’s recent loans and acquisitions of original art by Frederic Remington and Sally James Farnham.
The Frederic Remington Art Museum is located at 303 Washington St. and is open Oct. 15-May 15, Wednesday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday, 1-5 p.m.; and May 16-Oct. 14, Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday, 1-5 p.m.
