CANTON -- The North Country Center for Health and Yoga, 205 State St Rd., will host three new classes in additional to their traditional classes in Febrary.
A “Life Choices: Truth, Stories and Creating or Limiting Options” workshop will be held Saturday, Feb. 9 from 1:30 to 4 p.m.
The course will explore life stories and discuss how these stories influence decision-making. A donation of $10 is suggested. The registration deadline is Wednesday, Feb. 6 and can be made to Eddie Goldstein, 347-4097.
A Reiki Level 1 workshop will be held Saturday, Feb. 23 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Reiki is a Japanese word that refers to an energy which animates and is found in all life.
Reiki can be used to assist with ailments including stress, pain, headaches, stomach upsets, reducing the effects of cancer treatment and anxiety. Reiki also promotes natural self-healing, balances the body’s energy, clears toxins, promotes creativity and can aid in meditation.

The last new class is a Tai Chi Exercise class, to be held Thursdays from 1 to 2 p.m. Each week will include a series of short, slow, flowing exercises focused on different parts of the body.
Tai Chi practice can reduce stress, anxiety and depression, improve balance, flexibility and muscle strength, reduce falls in older adults, improve sleep quality, relieve chronic pain and improve overall well-being.
