CANTON -- The Art and Design Faculty Invitational of the Associated Colleges of the St. Lawrence Valley will present "North of the Blue Line," an exhibition of artists from North Country colleges and universities, from Jan. 15 to Feb. 21 at the Richard F. Brush Art Gallery, St. Lawrence University.

Hosted by SLU, the invitational exhibit will feature 25 artists who live and work in New York State’s rural St. Lawrence Valley north of the Adirondack Park “Blue Line.”

The exhibition includes drawings, prints, paintings, photographs, sculptures, ceramics, videos, and multi-media installations focused on aesthetics, nature, identity, spirituality, war and conflict as well as a wide range of other topics.

On the opening night of the exhibit, there will be an artist reception beginning at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15, in the Brush Art Gallery.

On Monday, Feb. 2 at 7 p.m., the film Nontraditional by Brain Hauser will be shown in Griffiths Arts Center, room 123. The film portrays a decorated female combat veteran who discovers that her freshman year of college is a much bigger challenge than she expected it to be.

The Richard F. Brush Art Gallery is located in the Griffiths Arts Center at St. Lawrence University, 23 Romada Drive, Canton.

The exhibition is free and open to the public. F
