CANTON -- Doug Sauer, chief executive officer for the New York Council of Nonprofits, Inc (NYCON) will keynote the inaugural Nonprofit Conference, sharing his nearly 40 years of experience in nonprofit leadership with attendees.
The Nonprofit Conference will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 20, from 2 to 5:30 p.m. at the Best Western University Inn, 90 East Main St.
NYCON is the state’s association of nonprofits and has a membership of almost 3,000 organizations with offices in Albany, Buffalo, New York City, Poughkeepsie and Oneonta. Under Doug’s leadership, NYCON has emerged as a nationally recognized leader in building innovative partnership initiatives with state government, foundations and United Ways with respect to board governance, mergers and restructuring, entrepreneurial ventures, and legal, financial and risk management service initiatives.
The Nonprofit Conference will include sessions catering to existing and infant organizations, their boards and leadership, with current information and relevant tips on nonprofit governance, grant readiness and the legal and financial advice for managing people. Sponsors Angela Gray from Gray and Gray and Associates CPAs and Diane Leonard from DH Leonard Consulting & Grant Writing Services, LLC will present.
A panel of local nonprofits will share their perspectives on being engaged, and a networking session will allow for attendees to meet and mingle.
