WILMINGTON -- The age-old European tradition of nighttime ski touring made popular in Germany is coming to the Adirondacks Saturday, Jan. 1.
Participants in the Nachtspektakel Ski Tour Event will be at Whiteface Mountain to begin at 4:30 p.m., “skinning” up to mid-station lodge. After dinner, skiers will put on their headlamps and ski back down to the Whiteface Base Lodge by 9 p.m., professionally guided by a certified mountain guide.
People are encouraged to make reservations by Friday, Dec. 31. It is $75 per person, including dinner and drinks, guides, and free equipment demos.
