MORRISTOWN -- The New York Elite Trappers Seminar will be held Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 at the Black Lake Fish and Game Club, 1 Gilmour Rd.
The event will feature two full days of in-depth instruction with four top producing trappers. The course will build on a trapper's existing skill set, while providing insight necessary to produce large catches. Instructors will cover methods, planning, locations and equipment they use.
Ninety percent of the instruction is spent afield on the northern edge of the Adirondacks and St. Lawrence Valley.
Space in the class is limited to only 40 trappers, 20 water trappers and 20 land trappers.
It is recommended that students have basic trapping knowledge and be older than 16 before enrolling. All students must be approved by instructors.
Cost to attend is $400, which includes two days of instruction, 3 meals a day and refreshments. A $200 non-refundable deposit is required to register. All proceeds after expenses are covered are donated to NYSTA.
