New Horizons Band to close Colton concert series Wednesday

COLTON -- The New Horizons Band of Northern New York will be the final performers at Colton’s Summer Music Series on Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. in St. Patrick’s Church Parish Center, State Highway 56.

Admission is free. The performance will feature tunes from the big screen and from Broadway as well as marches and international melodies. The group’s director Ron Berry says they are especially proud to present music written by neighbor John O’Reilly who is a summer resident of Hannawa Falls.

The audience also will be treated to an ice cream social provided by the St. Patrick’s, St. Paul’s Altar Rosary Society.

The New Horizons Band of Northern New York was organized in 2009 in partnership with The Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam.

There will be a drawing for artwork donated by a local artist is held to help cover expenses. artwork to be is a small sculpture of a tree created and donated by school art student Eli Thomas.
