POTSDAM – The 2016 film “Neither Wolf Nor Dog” will be the next movie in the Cinema 10 film series screened at the Roxy Theater on Main Street, Sept. 18 at 7:15 p.m.
“Neither Wolf Nor Dog,” directed by Steven Lewis Simpson, is based on the Kent Nerburn novel of the same name.
When a Lakota elder calls upon a white author to write his life story, the writer faces a crisis of self worth as he is submerged in the Native American experience and landscape in “Neither Wolf Nor Dog.”
The film has long been gestating in Hollywood as one of the "great unmade[s]," said a Cinema 10 press release.
Now, director Steven Lewis Simpson brings to life a story that he promised the author he would make by any means necessary.
"‘Neither Wolf Nor Dog’... is a funny, deeply moving and extremely important film. This is a beautifully shot, fragile film which avoids cliche and is never patronising," writes Caroline Grebbell of the Edinburgh Festivals Magazine.
The non-rated film is 110 minutes long.
Tickets are $5.50 general / $45 season or $4.50 student/senior / $35 season.
