LISBON -- The Z Club of the Ogdensburg Zonta Club will host the 2015 St. Lawrence Talent Challenge on Friday, May 29 at Lisbon Central School.

The event will benefit the Jules of Life Foundation, which gives financial help to families of children with cancer.

Eighteen acts will take the stage this year. Performers include Landry LaPiene and Emma Smithers of Heuvelton, Shannon Todd, Maddie Wheeler, Elise Deuel and Abigail Hughes of Potsdam, Morgan Sabre from Madrid-Waddington Central, Maya Randall, Abby Wilhelm and Connor Flack of Lisbon, Chantel Horne, Ben Foster and Jaelyn Stevens of Gouverneur, Faith Compo, Anthony Grizzuto, Allexa Hooper, Paige Merz, Hailey Weber, Mya Compo, Delia Hooper and Connor Grenier of Ogdensburg and Brigit Truesdell from Edwards-Knox Central.

“I am looking forward to seeing all the local talent plus be able to help raise money for a local cause. Treating cancer can be very expensive for many reasons including travel, time away from work, paying for family sitters to stay home and tend to things while a parent or two are with the child at the hospital. A small fun effort on my part can mean big things for another child and their family,” said Bridget Paige, Z Club member.

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the 7 p.m. show.

Dawn Merz of YESFM and Troy O’Brien will be hosts. Judges will determine the winners. The panel includes JOL alumna Kaitlyn Lashomb, Seaway Festival karaoke judge Lisa Adams, River Rat Designs owner Laurelee Roethel, Lisbon Central School musical director Angela Martin and Ogdensburg Area Zonta Club member Gail Bouchard.
