MASSENA -- Massena Central High School will celebrate Native American Day on Nov. 21, with a variety of events and presentations. The schedule is as follows:
• 7:40-8:25 a.m. 1st period: Ohen:ton Kariwatekwen, the words that come before all else, with Eddie Gray, in front of main entrance of the school.
• 8:29-9:11 and 9:15-9:57 a.m. -- 2nd and 3rd periods: Cornhusk doll making with Gina Jacobs, in room 314 (space is limited to 30 students per class, please sign up in advance with Miss Logan).
• 9:15-9:57 and 10:01-10:43 a.m. -- 3rd and 4th periods: Historical presentation with Darren Bonaparte, in the auditorium.
A traditional Haudenosaunee meal will be served during all lunch periods in room 314.
• 12:46- 2:10 p.m. -- 10th and 11th periods: Haudenosaunee Social with Traveling College Singers, in the main gym.
MCSD parents are welcome to attend all events.
The event is sponsored by Massena Central Mohawk Club, Massena Central Title VI Program, and JOM.
