OGDENSBURG -- St. John’s Conservatory Theater's original musical comedy "A Kreepy Christmas Carol" begins rehearsals on Nov. 1 and is slated for a Dec. 5 opening.

The comedic interpretation of the Charles Dickens holiday classic "A Christmas Carol" features original music and lyrics by award-winning playwright and composer Brazillia R. Kreep (author of JCT's last hit "Alice Isn't All There"), musical direction and vocal arrangements by Angela Conzone Dwyer, orchestration and accompaniment by Pat Duffy, set and prop designs by Stephen Chambers and costumes and makeup by Ann Losurdo and Maggie Gebo. A reimagined Scrooge finds himself haunted by new ghosts, and facing new and familiar characters, in a rollicking tale presented in JCT's signature commedia dell'arte and chamber theater style.

Local talent from Ogdensburg and Canton make up the cast with Sloane Ryan as Nipper, Makayla Lovely as Abby, Hailey Webber as Letty, Jillian LeBel as Gusie, Elizabeth Bascom as Trudy, Cole Siebels as Cager, Anton Skamperle as Ollie, Dee Bellinger as Zinger and Tiny Tina, Christopher Dwyer as Bob Cratchit, R O'Donnell as Scrooge, Brad Mintener as Jacob Marley, Steve Summers as Thaddeus Plum the Ghost of Been There Done That, Rebecca Bascom as Elvira, Ryan Woodard as Fizziwig, Angela Conzone Dwyer as Matilda Pift the Ghost of Christmas Presents and a surprise guest each night as the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come.

Show times are Friday and Saturday evenings December 5, 6, 12, 13, 19 and 20. Curtain is at 7 p.m. and Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. The show runs about 90 minutes. Tickets cost $15 at the door (suggested donation), or $10 at jctscrooge.brownpapertickets.com.

JCT is located on the second floor of St. John’s Parish House, behind St. John's Episcopal Church on the corner of Franklin and Knox streets in Ogdensburg. Handicap parking is available off Franklin Street.
