POTSDAM -- Music therapist Tracy Wanamaker will host three classes for special needs clients at the St. Lawrence County Arts Council.
Wanamaker will offer two arts exploration classes which include singing, movement, dancing, playing instruments, creating and painting to stimulate the senses, encourage creativity and increase socialization.
The Special Arts for Special Needs class is designed for adults with cognitive disabilities, autism and severe learning disabilities. The Special Arts After-School Program is designed for ages 11 to 20 with special needs.
Both classes will meet Tuesdays, Feb. 12 and 26, Mar. 12 and 26, Apr. 9 and 23 and May 7 and 21. The cost will be $90 for 8 classes. Adults will meet from 10:30 a.m. to noon, and the teens will meet from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
Wanamaker will also offer a "Northern Notes Chorus" class for teens and adults with special needs who enjoy performing for others. The chorus will meet Thursdays, Feb. 7 to May 2, from 6 to 7 p.m. The cost will be $75 for 10 classes.
