OGDENSBURG -- A Feb. 28 jamboree will benefit a local cancer patient.
The event, scheduled for noon to 6 p.m. at Club 1812, will raise money for Amy Ritchie of Ogdensburg, who has melanoma.
It will include food, music by DJ Jody Montroy, basket raffles, a silent auction and a 50/50 drawing.
Proceeds will help Ritchie pay for insurance and travel costs. She has been receiving treatments in Syracuse.
Ritchie, 44, is the youngest daughter of Sharon and Ron Ritchie of Ogdensburg. She has been diagnosed with stage three melanoma. She graduated from OFA in 1990 and played softball for the Blue Devils. She also played softball for many summers in the Ogdensburg Women’s League. Most recently, she worked for Ivy Ridge and the Riverledge Nursing Home. Ritchie is an avid dog lover, according to event coordinators.
