MADRID -- The St. Lawrence County Council of Senior Citizens and Office for the Aging will host their annual senior picnic at the Madrid Community Park July 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There will be bingo, 50/50 raffle, games, music, door prizes, and more throughout the day.
Picnic will include hamburgers, hotdogs and salads provided and served by Office for the Aging at noon. Grilling will be done by Marine Corps League, Detachment 408. Mr. Ding-a-ling, a local ice cream vendor, will be selling ice cream treats in the park.
Musical entertainment will be provided by Timeline, formerly Blue Country, from 1 to 3 p.m.
There will be several demonstrations including maple syrup production, old time spinning wool demonstrations by local spinners including Phyllis Brock, an antique car display, and others.
Cornell Cooperative Extension will also be participating at the picnic providing exercise and nutrition information from the recent “Fit as a Fiddle” program.
St. Lawrence County Public Health will provide a free blood pressure clinic from 10 a.m. to noon.
All seniors welcome. Bring a lawn chair.
Suggested lunch donation for individuals age 60 and over is $3; under 60 years of age, lunch fee is $5.
