MASSENA – The Nature Center at Robert Moses State Park will hold a wet-on-wet oil painting class for teens and adults on Saturday, Sept. 18, from 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. taught by artist Wilson Bickford. No experience is necessary.

The title of this painting is “Roses.” It can be viewed on artist, Wilson Bickford’s website.

A certified art instructor, Bickford of Gouverneur will teach participants the techniques of wet-on-wet oil painting. Wilson is well known throughout the area as an artist and teacher and has earned certification credentials from several art material manufacturers, such as Alexander Art and Grumbacher.

Wilson is a self-taught artist who works in many media including oils, watercolors, acrylics, pastels and pen and ink.

The wet-on-wet painting method is popular for its ease of execution, even for first time painters.

The workshop fee is $40 and all materials will be provided. Due to a registration limit of 20 participants, early registration is highly recommended.

Participants may wish to bring a snack and drink.

The Nature Center is temporarily located at the center beach building on Barnhart Island, in Robert Moses State Park. Call 764-5498 to pre-register and get additional information. More programs are listed on the NYS Parks site at:
