POTSDAM -- A mosaic workshop with instructor Mary Holland will be held Saturday, Sept. 30, from 1-4 p.m. at SLC Arts in Old Snell Hall, Elm Street.
The workshop for ages 10 and older will cost members $39 and non-members $46.
Students will make a tile trivet, wall plaque, or set of coasters in this class during an afternoon, using stained glass or stones and a grout finish.
Materials including backer board, glass, tile, stone, grout are supplied by the instructor, or attendees can bring a favorite broken plate, found tile, or pebbles to use in your project.
Students should bring rubber or vinyl gloves, and a disposable 16- to 32-ounce plastic container, and a small box to carry home their project.
Mary Holland has experience making foiled stained glass decorative items, and large scale stone, tile, and glass mosaics.
Students can use what they learn in this class in larger home projects.
