The St. Lawrence County Planning Office has scheduled Community Development Block Grant project kick-off meetings for June 10 in Macomb and Morristown. This spring, the county received $400,000 in grants to repair or replace faulty septic systems for 35 income-eligible households in Morristown and Macomb.
Staff from the Planning Office and Housing Council will provide an overview of the project. Topics will include the project service area, household and property eligibility requirements, the application process to receive grant funding and the anticipated time it will take for a contractor to repair or replace a septic system to a home.
Each presentation is a half-hour before the regular town board meeting.
The Morristown meeting will be 6:30 p.m. at the municipal building, 604 Main St.
In Macomb, the meeting will be 7 p.m. at the municipal building, 6663 State Hwy. 58, Brasie Corners.
Those unable to attend but seeking additional information should contact the St. Lawrence County Housing Council at 386-8576.
Local contractors can contact the Housing Council if they want to participate.
