More than 4,000 expected to attend Clarkson graduation on May 9

POTSDAM -- More than 4,000 people are expected to attend Clarkson University graduation ceremonies on Saturday, May 9 at 2:30 p.m. in Cheel Arena.

More than 700 Clarkson University students will be granted bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees.

United States Army and Air Force ROTC (Reserve Officers' Training Corps) cadets will graduate on Friday, May 8 at 3 p.m.

An additional 215 students received degrees at a winter ceremony.

Receiving an honorary degree and giving the keynote address will be Hockey Canada Chairman of the Board Joe Drago, a 1963 Clarkson graduate.

Faculty members will be honored with the John W. Graham Jr. Faculty Research Award and the Clarkson University Distinguished Teaching Award.

The Levinus Clarkson Award and the Frederica Clarkson Award will be bestowed upon two students “who have demonstrated unsurpassed scholarship and promise of outstanding academic achievement,” Clarkson said.
