CANTON -- More than 25 area agencies have been invited to help promote a healthy lifestyle for the college and community at a health fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, in Dana Hall.
The SUNY Canton Davis Health Center has invited each agency who will provide health screenings or education. Admission is free.
There will be information about disaster preparedness, lung cancer screenings, weight loss, grief support, blood pressure and diabetes testing, tobacco cessation, caring for Alzheimer's disease patients, health care plans and more. There will also be a distracted driving simulator that will allow participants to see how easily it is to get in an accident when driving while distracted.
Among the organizations in attendance will be: Alzheimer's Association of Central New York, American Red Cross, Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, Community Health Center of the North Country, Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley, Reachout of St. Lawrence County, Renewal House, Seaway Valley Prevention Council, St. Lawrence County Traffic Safety Stop, SUNY Employee Assistance Program, United Healthcare Community Plan and the Watertown Veteran Center.
