MASSENA – St. Lawrence County residents can still suit up with the Montreal Canadiens alumni team for a softball game Aug. 27.

Mike Gagner he wants three teams of 10 players each to play the Habs for three innings each.

Gagner helped arranged the February 2016 hockey game between the Habs alumni and local players for the annual Winter Chill celebration in Waddington, Louisville and Massena.

This summer he’s raising money for next February’s Winter Chill.

Players, men or women, must be 35 or older and be willing to sell 20 tickets each in order to play.

Players will also be eligible to take part in a home-run derby.

The game will be nine innings. Each team will play three innings.

Presale tickets are $10 each.

The game is set to start at 7 p.m. Aug. 26 with a rain date of Aug. 27 at 7.

Local players can also pay to be on the Canadiens’ team as players or as coaches. People will also have a chance, with a VIP ticket, to meet and greet the Habs at a tailgate event.

Gagner says there will also be children’s events.

Gagner says any players or teams who are interested should contact him right away at 315-212-7410. Spots are “first-come, first-served.”
